Fairtrade
Preston Candover School is proud to hold the Fair Achiever Award. This is a campaign from The Fairtrade Foundation that gives primary and secondary school students the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of global issues and the solution that Fairtrade is for many farmers and workers in marginalised conditions across the globe. The Fairtrade Awards teach students the issues and aims to teach them how they can be involved in changing the world around them, encouraging them to know that they can make a difference and that through supporting and promoting Fairtrade in your school, they can empower farmers and workers in marginalised countries. The award is broken into three stages and we have achieved the full award status.
At Preston Candover School our teaching staff and Fairtrade Representatives organise assemblies and events to raise pupil's awareness of Fairtrade products and the work of the Fairtrade Foundation.
Fairtrade Fortnight Feb - March
During this fortnight our Fairtrade reps joined with the PCSA to sell fairtrade mother's day gifts. We have had a whole school focus on Fairtrade with some superb learning about different products and places in the world.
A huge well done to our brilliant Fairtrade Reps and to everyone for supporting this by helping to bake and eat some delicious cakes!
