Gold Standard Recognition

We are thrilled to announce that our school has achieved the School Games Gold Mark for the eighth consecutive year! This prestigious award recognises our ongoing dedication to inclusive, high-quality sports and physical activity, and celebrates our strong culture of participation and achievement. The new mark can be found at the bottom of our website pages.

Quad Kids Athletics – 1st July

To round off the year, 12 children from Years 3 to 6 represented our school in the Quad Kids athletics festival. Every participant completed four events with determination and enthusiasm. Our Year 3/4 team came 3rd, and our Year 5/6 team finished 2nd—what an incredible finale to the year!

Sports Day – 17th June

Our annual Sports Day engaged all the children in a celebration of participation, teamwork, and fun. EYFS and KS1 delighted in traditional races, while KS2 tackled a full Quad Kids programme. Whether racing, cheering or helping run events, every child had a part to play in this day.

National Skipping Day – 28th March

Playleaders led the school in a range of skipping games and challenges during break time. With staff joining in, children explored new skipping styles, counted their jumps, and even learned traditional rhymes—all in celebration of keeping active in fun and inclusive ways.

Handball Tournament – 25th March

A mixed team of Year 5 and 6 children took part in an exciting new after school handball event at Eggar’s School. With combined scores from girls' and boys' halves, our team won 3 out of 4 games and proudly took second place overall—a great result in a brand-new sport.

Netball Tournament - 12th March

The Year 5 and 6 children from our after-school netball club represented us in a high-energy tournament, taking on schools from across East Hampshire in BEE Netball. They rotated positions, braved hail and sunshine, and played with fantastic energy, winning two games and drawing three.

Cross Country Success – 12th February & 4th March

8 children from Year 3 to Year 6 competed in the after school Perins cross country event. Four of the Year 5 and 6 children then qualified for the County Finals. 3 of them took part in this and competed against 180 runners from across Hampshire at the county final, with each child finishing in the top 100.

Sportshall Athletics - 5th February

A group of Year 5 and 6 children represented our school at a multi-event athletics evening at Perins, taking on standing long jumps, speed bounce, relays and more. Our children showed determination, cooperation, and plenty of team spirit throughout the event.

Orienteering Launch Day - 22nd January

All classes took part in a fantastic day of orienteering using our brand-new school course. From teamwork and communication to problem-solving and navigation, it was an active and adventurous way to enhance both learning and physical skills.

Tag Rugby Festival - 8th October

Thirteen Year 5 and 6 children represented our school in a fun-filled Tag Rugby festival at Perins, competing with pupils from across East Hampshire. With great teamwork and sportsmanship, they developed new skills and enjoyed a brilliant evening of friendly competition.

Wow Basketball Day - 3rd October 

We started the year with a true “Wow” moment as Paul Sturgess, Britain’s tallest man and former Harlem Globetrotter, visited our school. With his inspiring story of overcoming adversity and embracing uniqueness, Paul captivated the entire school during assembly. He followed this up with action-packed basketball workshops, leaving children thrilled, motivated, and spinning basketballs like pros!
